New Home Sales Fall but...

The Tampa Tribune wrote an article in Friday's paper titled "New Home Sales Fall To Record Low". In the Tampa Bay area we were down 14.7 percent in December. These numbers don't sound good but you have to look at the whole picture.

At the very end of the article it was mentioned that existing home sales jumped 16 percent. The only way we'll get the new home sales back up is by selling off the existing homes. Once we get the existing homes sold off there will be a need for new homes. We should be thrilled that existing home sales jumped 16 percent not focusing on the fact that new home sales are down.

Again, bad news leads and good news gets buried. We are selling homes, lenders are lending money and insurance companies are writing policies! If all you're hearing is bad news just remember there is ALWAYS another side of the story.
